ABOUT US
The Association V.A.M.I. ROMA-ODV (Associate Volunteers for Italian Museums), founded in 1978 in Milan by Alberica Trivulzio, was established in Rome in 1989 and is registered in the volunteer register of the Lazio region. The objective of the V.A.M.I. ROMA-ODV Association is ‘the knowledge and promotion of the cultural heritage of museums through the voluntary and unpaid commitment of its members’. It has been operating since 2002, under an agreement with the Galleria Borghese Museum in Rome and since 2025 also at the National Galleries - Palazzo Barberini in Rome. In accordance with the Articles of Association, volunteer members contribute to the realisation of the Association's various activities to facilitate visitors' access to and enjoyment of the museum and the art works.
In particular, V.A.M.I. ROMA-ODV educational operators offer : - DESCRIPTIVE AND TOUCH GUIDED TOURS to visitors with cognitive, motor and sensory disabilities. V.A.M.I. ROMA-ODV assistants also guarantee a service of - MULTILINGUAL WELCOME, INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE to all visitors to the Borghese Gallery Museum The content and methods of the services provided by the volunteers are the result of long-standing training, the international experience of the founder Alberica Trivulzio, and participation in training courses at specialised institutions such as the Opera Sante De Sanctis in Rome, the ANTEROS Tactile Museum in Bologna and the Omèro State Tàttile Museum in Ancona, CSV and other organisations.

Gian Giacomo Attolico Trivulzio is a founding partner together with his mother Luisa Alberica Trivulzio (who passed away in 2018) and the real estate company Molgora S.p.A. of the Trivulzio Foundation of which he is also President. He is President of the Artistic Foundation Poldi Pezzoli. He is Director of the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento, Milan Committee and Honorary President of the association VAMI Roma OdV.

Cristina Marchese has been a member and educational worker of Vami for visitors with disabilities since 2003. In recent years, she has been particularly involved in projects for visitors with visual impairments and recently coordinated the successful implementation of the project ‘La Pinacoteca per tutti’ (The Art Gallery for All). In June 2023, she was appointed President of the association.
