Visually impaired visitors are allowed the tactile exploration of a wide selection of sculptures from the museum's collection using latex gloves. The descriptive visit is based on the verbal description of the work of art using a specific vocabulary to help the visually impaired to process permanent mental images or to evoke emotions and stimulate reflection.
Upon request, the visit can be led by a blind educational worker from V.A.M.I. Blind visitors can be accompanied inside the museum by their guide dog.
Visitors with hearing disabilities are accompanied by an LIS interpreter.It is possible to choose between different tour routes:
Numerous visitor aids are also available at the V.A.M.I. desk: scale models of Gian Lorenzo Bernini's sculptures, tactile maps and descriptive cards in Braille and enlarged type, and typhlological cards for some paintings.
